Truefitt & Hill Carlton?

I've just ordered this 1805 kit at a reduced price from another site.

The brush type isn't named on the website but to me it looks like a Carlton, which according to a post in another thread, is the made by Vulfix and is from their 37x range. Am I on the right track? Does anyone know this brush? It would be nice to know a few details as the website doesn't give much away. Any help appreciated. View attachment 247582

So the brush arrived and it looks more like the T&H Regency. According to the previous thread, this is the same as the Vulfix 2234.
Anyone own this brush? It would be nice to hear some opinions.

From your photo, I would suggest that it could be the same style of brush. What grade of hair is marked on it and more importantly...... how does it perform?

I heard from another thread that the T&H brushes were re-branded Rooney's. I am by no means an authority though.
Image if it helps?... (I;m not sure how to resize it)

There is no grade marked on it, but looking at the T&H site, I think it must be Super Badger. Only used it twice so far and only have one other brush for comparison (EJ in Super 23mm). I did a practice lather last night with the T&H 1805 cream in a bowl and got swathes of lather. Used a bit less product on my shave this morning and still got a lather explosion. It's got a bit of scritch but I guess it needs breaking in. I think the extra back bone it has will make it better for soaps and maybe face-lathering. I'll try those next.

Patrick, good find on the picture of the Rooney. It is exactly the same handle shape as the T&H. There were a couple of minor differences with the Vulfix so I think it must be the Rooney. Mine must be a smaller size than the one on the picture as it is nearer 50mm for the handle and about 45mm for the loft.

Edit: Having had a look around, I am convinced it is the Rooney small style 3. I would guess it is in 'best' and T&H use the term 'super' to describe 'best'

I was thinking Rooney 3/1 when I saw it. Probably Super, Silvertip or Super Silvertip. It seems to be the same grade, just different names with different vendors. To me it feels comparable to Simpson Best. My old Rooney 3/1 has a 48mm loft. It's softer (no scritch), but has less backbone (less dense) than my new 1/1 with a 44/45mm loft.
