Treet Classic blades, who else have tried them?

I got a 10 pack of these with a Tweezerman badger brush and they worked wonders with my Ustura straight. Sharp enough for a close and smooth shave.

I got moves like Jagger
I had the same "fun" as mentioned above, but don't let that stop you from trying them. They just might be right for your razor+face combo.

I did ~ month a go when I decided to take my DE out for a spin. I found that the first shave was a bit rough but subsequent ones were fine.

Are you talking about the Treet Durasharp Classics with the old-timey printing on the blade wrapper? I got one of those out of the travelling blade box and -=loved=- it. I'm trying to determine what the exterior package looks like so that I can get some more. If anyone can post a pic of the one I'm thinking if, that would be very helpful.
Thanks,
-- Chet

No, that is a stainless blade ("silver edge"). The OP is talking about the standard carbon blade from Treet. Very good blade imo (but I like the durasharps - both the carbon and silver edge too )

I thought these were pretty good, somewhat better than the Trig. I have 38 different blade samples that I'm going through. Here are my notes on them using a Parker 91R:

17. Treet Classic
9/19 acceptable - good reasonable shave - maybe a notch down from Red IP, but still good
9/20 take that back about being a notch lower - excellent, sharp, smooth - as good as any
Shave 3 in L6, Shave 4 in FB on 4 - both good
good shaves all week

So maybe they do improve after the first shave. In summary, I think they are fine blades and I could be happy with them.

Ditto... gave up after seeing no improvement the 2nd day.

I rarely get a blade I don't agree with, but my last shave was with the black treet blade, very rough ! actually had rare razor burn,my old mug is fairly tough,I was surprised, glad I always have witch hazel and sea breeze on hand...

The Treet Classic blade that I'm talking about is the one reviewed here:

I think there may be more than one Treet Classic.

The picture of the Treet Classic packaging you are showing in your post is a relatively new graphic for this blade and box. I know this says Dura-Sharp Classic, but it's not. This is the same as you have. It is a carbon blade (not stainless), and is the exact same blade as the carbon Treet Blue (known as black beauties) in the second photo, only it has a coating on it. This coating both helps inhibit rust and smoothes the blade edge some.

Is that sold under the Trig name? That's the only one I'm seeing online, anyway.

Chet, the blade you are asking about is this. It is a stainless steel silver edge like another Treet line product. I was able to get a box of these this past summer from *Filtered Vendor* shaving online. Although it came from England to the US, the price was surprisingly inexpensive. He may still have some left.

I thought these were pretty good, somewhat better than the Trig. ...

See and I just finished 3 days with a Trig and found it to be much more agreeable than the Treet was. A few weepers on days 2 and 3, took an extra pass each day as the days wore on in order to get the same closeness of shave... but not a terrible "argh kill it with fire!" reaction that I had to the treet.

No, he sold them out (and you should not be buying there ;)).

I found them on a Google this summer before I even belonged to B&B. When I made the post above in reply to Chet, I typed the name of the merchant in and when I posted, it came back censored. I'm apparently not in the loop.

By the way, Wil, if that site is verboten, how did you know he was out of the Dura Sharps?

Shoebox Shave Shop sells the DuraSharp Stainless blades. I will probably be ordering some of these soon.
