Traveling blade box.

Has anyone here done a traveling blade box like the Big Box Travels PIF? I think it would be a pretty cool way for guys to try out different blades that they might not otherwise order. As long as you put in the same # of blades that you pull out, and make sure you don't add multiple packs of brands that are already in the box (say limit each brand to 2 full packs or something), it could go on indefinitely. Of course, for the maximum # of people to get involved, it would help to have multiple boxes going at once. This would also greatly cut down on the lag time between signing up and having one of the boxes in your mailbox. What do you guys think? Good idea or not?

Well, I currently have 15 brands of blades on hand, and I only have multiple packs of 2 brands, so I figure I could start one with 23 blades in it at the moment.

I was thinking the list should be limited to about 15 people on each box, and then it can start over a week (maybe 2 weeks?) before the last recipient gets the box. This will give people time to sign up for the next go around, and then there won't be any lag in between with the box just sitting in someone's house. Since blade selection should be fairly straightforward, I thought the turnaround for each person to get the box back in the mail should be within 2-3 days of the box's arrival.

To keep the box full and to ensure good selection for each recipient, everyone should replace each blade they take out at least 1 for 1, and if they wanted to throw in extra that would be great. I just wouldn't want anyone to take 10 or 15 individual blades and throw in 3 full packs of blades. It would be better to keep the variety of blades as high as possible.

That's all I could think of in the short time it took me to shave, so if you guys have any other ideas or suggestions, I'm all ears!

Sounds good to me. I have about 13 varieties as well, and haven't tried some of the more common ones (Red IPs, Gillette, Irridium) so this is a great opportunity. Count me in!

You could open another one up for Canada. I think you'd have enough interest to get another one started.

Sounds like a good idea. I believe there is a "box" of sorts that's going around for miscellaneous stuff. We can do one for blades as well.
