As far as DEs in CONUS-Not a problem in checked bags. Carry on however is a different matter. Blades are obviously a problem, DE razors if detected will get a look at but will go through. Unfortunately you end up holding up yourself and others if a DE is detected and they decide to take a look. Haven't tried straights but no way they are not going to be confiscated if detected in carry on.
