I have a Toggle with a D1 Date code. The toggles I've seen all have F date codes and the Gillette date code reference says they should have an F date code.

Mine is a "D1" too.
They were apparently released in a special limited run the 1st quarter of '58. I believe I've read that it was a regional thing, but I don't know where exactly. Mine is a D1, pictured here: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=703592&postcount=4
I have two, both are D-1's.
