What's new

Today's resto's...

First is a SatinEdge I paid in the neighborhood of $15 for. Honing was good, scales are mostly good (a few sanding dings, but not cracked or warped), but there was some serious pitting going on.

I ground it down as much as I felt comfortable doing, hit it with a little sandpaper just to take the worst of the grinding marks off it, and beveled it. It's just waiting for an edge.

Second is a High Art. It was the easiest one. It just needed a little sanding and a beveling. It was about $20.

Third is a Henkels with Sheffield Steel (probably unrelated to Henckels) It required a regrind, sanding, and beveling. It was also about $20.

Finally the gem of the day. A Henckels Friodur No Stain 451. It came to me very poorly honed and with broken DD scales. I replaced the scales with some very nice Celluloid ones and fixed the honing then beveled it. Total cost was about $60 (30 each for razor and scales).
