TOBS, Inconsistant?

Has anyone else found that TOBS are rather inconsistant with their shave creams and colognes?

For example My Taylors shave cream has always been a "goto" of mine and always will be but the cologne, bearing in mind the cream is meant to be based on the cologne, is terrible in comparrison. It's not an awful scent just not the same as the shave cream and for anyone who has used Mr Taylor you'll know what I mean.

It's completely vice versa for Shaving Shop range. The cologne smells fantastic and the cream just smells soapy. The cream itself has very poor consistency and appears to be dryer and lumpy compared to Mr Taylor cream.

Does anyone else have similar issues with TOBS? Possible batch issues etc?

Taylor of Old Bond Street is the epitome of inconssistent. I've had three diffrent versions of their Lavender cream over the years. Each tub can be a different consistency and scent. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was the same across their entire line.

I keep reading this but I would defend TOBS. I have been using Sandalwood for about 10 years and I have never had a batch problem. Maybe it depends on where you buy it and how it was stored. I also use their Sandalwood A/S and bath soap and the scents are as similar as they need to be.

Im not trying to put a total downer on TOBS because my new Mr Taylor cream seems to be just as good as the last (albeit in a new type of plastic tub) and the after shave balm I bought was great too. I used to have a shop here where I could go and pick up samples and try their stuff out but its gone now.

Still to try the Shave Shop cream for a shave though, proof is in the pudding and all that.

Can you let us know where you purchase from? I'm probably in the market for some TOBS cream and if you're having good luck from your vendor I'd be happy to increase business there.
