Tobacco in Canada?

So I just got my first pipe and some tobacco yesterday. I realize Canada has some ridiculous taxes on tobacco as my 50g pouch was $27. But when I look online and see it for sale for $6-7 that makes me sad inside. So my question for the other Canadian pipe smokers is...

Is there a vendor in Canada that sells online for a more reasonable price? Or better yet if I was to order from a vendor in the States am I going to have to pay the tax for it to come over the border?

All the pipe smokers I know and smoke-with don't buy locally. Like you stated, it's 4x the price and the selection isn't great.

I'm not sure how often you go to the USA but you have a duty free allowance of 200gr per person (4 tins); after a 48 hour absense. Usually any time I go to the USA or my family members do I make sure this allowance is used.

There are also vendors who will ship discreetly, but we only share this knowledge if you know the "secret handshake"

It's even worse in Australia - anywhere from $35 - $50 for 50g (our dollars are pretty much one for one).
