Timor DE Razor

Just came across Timor branded DEs on the Shaving Shack website. They're pretty cheap (£14) and look like the butterfly opening Parkers. It will be interesting to find out if they make them in Germany and, obviously, how well they shave

They are not Parkers. This company makes mostly str8 razors so I am thinking Chinese made. Too cheap to be made in Germany. Similar looking to a Weishi which are mild shavers.

I think the OP is talking about a razor and not the blades.

Yep sorry. I just took a look on what's new on a vendor's site and saw the Timor razors.. I then realized I might have been wrong.
Thanks for pointing out the mistake.

On topic, the vendor says that the razors are made in China, are TTO and come in 3 variants:chrome, satin and gunmetal.

"Available in Mirror Chrome, Stain Chrome & Gunmetal finish.
Twist to open design for easy blade changing.
Supplied with 10 Iridium Super razor blades in a black card box.
Made in China for Giesen & Forsthoff (Solingen) "

Recently I purchased one (satin finish) and I am using it with Persona (made in Israel) blades. I am very happy with this combination and I am using it for my everyday morning shave. The DE is very well manufactured. It is the perfect DE for the beginner as it is not aggressive at all. It's also ideal for someone with sensitive skin who wants a fast and irritation free shave. Timor replaced my Merkur 37C - feather combination for my everyday shave.

Six, I find your comment very interesting and somewhat similar to my own experience. I ordered a Weishi and Timor last week. My hope was that the Timor may be made and finished to a higher standard as required by the customer. Meanwhile my Weishi arrived. I find it to by an excellent little razor. Your comments are spot on. I wanted a travel razor that met certain criteria.
1. Does a good job
2. Travel case
3. Not to expensive
4. If lost or damaged easily replaced without any regrets (such as Vintage TTO loss would create)

I have two shaves in with the Weishi and I like it. It is a mile razor and I would recommend it to new DE shavers. My Merkur travel razor is going to be offered for sale now. I have no need for it as I like the Weishi much better.

My Giesen & Forsthoff (Timor) Razor arrived today. My initial reaction to it is that it is finished a little nicer than the two Weishi razors I have. The level of polish is nicer and there are no sharp corners or burrs on this razor. Tomorrow I will give it a try and report back. If it shaves well I plan to order these razors to provide as gifts for friends. There is no point in giving someone a $50 to $60 dollar razor they are simply going to throw in the drawer and never use.

Any news on the Timor? Some love, some hate? I'm particularly curious about the CC version. Currently using an R89. I think I like smooth unaggressive razors.
