Timor DE blades

Ok quick question here

i received several boxes of razors today .. and I noticed that the Timor pack is the only one with no plastic film seal (from the bunch that are packed in plastic boxes by 5/10 like Wilkinson Sword for example or Derby).

Is this the norm for Timor (no plastic film seal on the single boxes?) .. i guess if they come sealed in pack of 100 (10x10) instead of individual boxes of 10?

I still don't understand why these blades don't get more attention. Comfortable, forgiving, and durable blade, not necessarily the sharpest, remind me of Personna Reds except they last longer.

I haven't tried them (yet) but I feel the same way about Souplex, another blade out of Solingen. I suspect that part of the issue is limited availability, which means fewer men have the chance to give them a try and post their opinions.

I have a pack of them, and certainly like them. At least for me, they seem a bit pricey.

they were 2.08 GBP for 10 so that's cheaper then the Gillette platinum I can get locally but yeah the Persona/Derby were 1.25 .. (at least on the place i ordered from). And I haven't tried em out yet .. still lots of samples to go :)

The individual pack is not sealed, not even in the container with 200 (20x10).

I've used one 5x, in iKon OSS, Gillette fat handled Tech (2), Gillette Fatboy and Gillette Slim.
Even at last time, it didn't seem to be dull at all.
Amazing blade.

Nope, not sealed. I bought 95 on the BST after trying a 5-pack in my search for good blades. They are a winner. A bit pricey but smooth and effective.

I am pretty sure the Souplex and Timor blades come out of the same Medyna razor blade factory in Solingen. Souplex might be a better value, but I have not tried those myself.

According to some other threads here on this subject, Souplex and Timors do come from the same facility but are made to different specs. Souplex was implied to be sharper and Timor less sharp and more forgiving. I have no personal knowledge of this, its just what some of the Timor PR people supposedly said.

I too believe that if these were easier to get ahold of we would hear a lot more about them. I've got a few of the Timors and a few of the Souplexs and have enjoyed both of them - very much so.

I'm awaiting 50pcs. Souplex. Can't wait for trying.

Both blades have a small but loyal following around here, so I tried them both. Despite the fact that they come from the same manufacturing site, the feel of the two blades is nothing alike IMO. So much so, that I don't see the person who likes one enjoying the other. Souplex is a feedback blade. Lots of feedback. I got the impression that it just wasn't very sharp, but that's just a subjective impression. They are very sharp, but just take some getting used to. Also quite durable. Timor, is much smoother and more forgiving of mistakes. Also very durable. You can Bogart the Timor and get away with it. Bogart a Souplex and you'll need a face transplant. Both very good blades, but nothing alike. JMO.

That's it. You've convinced me to dig out a couple of each and try comparing them so more. Been a while since I've used either.
