Thermal Shaving Cream...Has anyone seen/heard of this before?

I saw this randomly on some non-shaving related site...warming shave cream.

Check it out.

"Luxuriously-textured shaving cream warms upon contact to re-create the feeling of hot towels at a professional barber shop, and includes essential oils that stimulate beta-endorphins, giving you 'shaver's high' with every use."

If this cream is so great, why do they offer bliss homme improvement post-shave repair lotion at the bottom of the page?

I received a small free sample of this at a Sheraton hotel and found it to be FABULOUS. I would like to be able to find it at retail, but apart from a 6-pack of the samples selling on ebay for $30, every place (Amazon, for example) listing it reports it to be unavailable.

Applying a pea sized portion of room-temperature cream to my finger, and then rubbing my finger across my face, I suddenly notice the cream to heat up quickly and dramatically, so that it is almost HOT. It is hard to describe the simultaneous surprise and delight this sensation conveys. The cream quickly becomes a lubricated gel which shaves quite nicely using only small amounts.

Hello Maher. While undoubtedly the Modern Classic Shave Cream you recommend is a high quality product, it doesn't seem to be a thermal cream. That's the essence of the my experience with the Bliss cream: it gets hot immediately after you apply it to your face! Have you any experience with thermal creams?

I think those guys are confusing the heat and moisture combination of a hot towel (and it's beard softening effects) and the heat of a chemical reaction on your skin (which at best will have no effect, at worst will cause irritation).

I have plenty of experience with hot towels, which I like. I also use a miniature crock pot to heat up olive oil based shaving soap, and love the warmth of the hot lather on my face. Still, I have to say, I liked Homme Improvement Thermal Shaving Cream very much, and look forward to the day when I can buy it on the cheap from an ebay vendor!

If it's anything like the new Gillette thermal scrub (which is largely useless) I can't see the warming aspect being much more than a novelty. That said, this stuff seems to have skin-friendly goodies.
