I saw this at my buddies house on laser disc when I was 14 and there where many a scene that made us all jump. I can imagine how this one going to be

CGI is being done by the studio that did District 9. they're off to a good start

You are correct sir. H.P. "Hatecraft" was in the episode, along with Harlen Ellison. The Scoobyized Cthulhu was a dude with a squid on his face and a sonic sound blaster thingy that blasted Aquaman-like rings out of its mouth and nearly knocked those meddling kids nearly off the roof of a building.
