What's new

The TGN black badger knots are bloom resistant!

I'm kinda befuddled by it. I've palm lathered it twice now and shaved with it once. I think it's a great knot. It reminds me a little of my Semogue boars only with not quite as much backbone. It splays nicely across the face and builds lather quickly. I couldn't be happier in that regard.

But... the confounded thing just won't bloom. It's like a buttoned-up dorky wallflower of a brush knot. I like my brushes to bloom wild and free! Is there, like, some sort of regimen for loosening up knots that don't want to bloom? Like a spiked punch for shaving brushes or something?

Mine only bloomed a little bit too. It will loosen up as time goes on though. If Rudy set yours deep or tight that will keep the bloom to a minimum as well. Just be patient but if you really want to speed things up do lots of lathering.

Tomorrow night I'll try to get you a picture of my Black Badger for comparison.
