What's new

The Technivorm has landed!

Just got the Technivorm CDT from Clive Coffee today... I'm gonna get up early to try it out! I already ran a few test runs with no grinds and I'm really impressed... Can't wait!

Congratulations on your new toy!
Mind the selector on the filter basket, you will never forget to open it after you overflow it once.

Thanks! I think the 'flow gate' is a pretty cool feature, but I was thinking the exact same thing... Hopefully, I don't learn the hard way.

I beg to differ!

I have forgotten twice in 3-4 years. But, there is an overflow path so that the mess ends up in the carafe, mostly. There is still a basked full of mixed grounds and coffee that is hard to move without spilling so be sure to open the selector and let it drain before attempting any cleanup.

I live about a half mile south of their original Intelligentsia location in Lakeview... Don't get there as mush as I would like, but it's nice to have fresh beans so close. I'm truly spoiled with the variety and convenience within walking distance of my building.

I'm sipping my first cup as I type... The simplicity of the machine astounds me! As for the cup, it's awesome! It's smoother and tastier than my old brewer. I'm thinking that I'll be able to tell the difference between grind settings and bean varieties much easier.

I picked up a gold filter I want to try in the next week or so... Is there much of a difference between gold and paper filters? I've heard more oils are able to pass through the gold mesh. I do like Frech Press coffee as well, but it seems to be a tad murky even though I use a coarse grind.
