Hey Everyone,
It's been a while since I've posted. A couple of months ago my Grandfather said he had a box for me the next time I came home. Knowing I was into wet shaving, he had put together a few of his old items that he wasn't using.
Aside from a LOT of Old Spice soap, he gave me an old brush (appears to be boar) and an old cup my Dad got him for Christmas one year with "Packard" on it. We are car guys, and he restored two Packards. If my Dad ever asks about the cup I'll give it to him, but for now, I am not telling him about it.
Aside from that he gave me an old straight razor that belonged to another family member (not sure who) and the piece de resistance, a 1960's Slim! I couldn't be more excited. It had a fair amount of scum and a bit of green corrosion. Unfortunately some plate loss was inevitable and it's a bit broken. The twist mechanism works great but the doors are floppy. Which means I can push/pull the twist mechanism up and down. The adjustment seems to work fine otherwise, and I could probably use it as a daily shaver, but I decided I really wanted to get it restored (since it was my Grandfather's and it means a lot that it was.).
SWMBO agreed that the restoration was a great idea and we will be shipping it off to Razor Emporium in April for a "REVAMP". Does anyone have any opinion on their work?
