The passing of my beloved dog.

$IMG_0752.jpg

Regrettably, I wish to inform you of the passing of our beloved dog, Peri.
Peri was put to sleep after suffering an apparent heart attack this Saturday afternoon; he was sixteen-years-old.
Peri is survived by his parents, and his sister Cricket, all of whom will miss him terribly.
We ask that you say a little prayer for our little buddy.

Sincerely,

T-dog

He's lovely.

That's a pretty good run. Our last dog died 3 days before she had her sweet sixteenth, so I know what you and your family are going through.

As a Scot, I feel it appropriate to raise a glass to Peri tonight, with your permission. I hope he's happy, wherever he is.
There are many dog-people on B&B. Please don't feel bad that there have been few replies to your post. I think many of us get quite emotional when responding to such a thread and many might have wanted to spare themselves that.
You have our deepest sympathies

Sorry for your loss. Losing such a dear friend and companion is hard. I had to put my beloved German Shepherd to sleep a few years ago. I still miss him. Peri had a long life and had people who loved him. Perhaps that will give you some comfort. I wil say a prayer for your little buddy.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I feel for you, it must be very painful. I have four pooches and I can't think how I will feel when the time comes to say goodbye to each of them.

Dear Friends:

My wife and I wish to thank you all for your kind thoughts and words. This is why I like this chat forum so much, there are a lot of really nice people here. Scottish Steve, raising your glass would be most appropriate, as our Peri was a purebred Cairn Terrier and of Scottish descent--I plan to have a dram or two myself tonight. Kooze, thank you for your little tale, as I truly wish to believe in Rainbow Bridge. Thank you all so much!

T-Dog:

My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your beloved family member, Peri. I believe you will all see him again.

Don

They are never with us long enough and their passing is always a shock.

You gave him 16 wonderful years and he gave you just as many back.

I'm sorry to hear it... it's very hard to lose a little friend like Peri. I'm sure you gave him the happiest of lives.
