I always had a curiosity about the Simpson Fifty Series. This particular series is not one that is immensely popular but appears to have more of a cult following here at B&B.
The Fifty Series was always aesthetically pleasing to my eye. The handle is reminiscent of the Emperor. I finally decided to order one and ordered it from John at WCS.
I preferred the "56" model because it has a 21mm knot as well as 47mm loft. This is my first Simfix in Best. (I am awaiting on the custom Eagle in Best as well.)
After looking over the "56" I realized that my Simpson Anniversary 90th Anniversary Limited Edition brush was #56 as well.
Then it dawned on me that this is the only set of two different models of Simpson brushes (that I am aware of) that have the number "56" affixed on them. I believe this would work with several other types of Simpsons (i.e. the remaining Fifty-range; 55, 57, 58, 59 and their corresponding Astor anniversary brush, the Berkeley series each have #46 affixed on them, so if you have the 46th Astor brush that would be the only set of two different Simpsons in the entire world with the #46.)
This would work with the Polo range of brushes as well since their numbering sequence is not on any other brushes (8, 10, 12, 14). Most ranges go from 1 thru 3 or 4 like the PJ, Duke, Tulip and Chubby series. Both the Beaufort and Harvard range have a numbered 5 and 6 brush so that wouldn't work.
You know what this means? You may be in possession of a one-of-a-kind set of brushes from Simpson that no one else in the world has.
Take this fact, coupled with a $1.50, and you could get a cup of coffee.
(Light, no sugar, please.)
How about some pics of this unique sighting?

So there you have it. The only two different Simpson brushes affixed with the number "56" anywhere in the world.
Remember, you saw it here first.
