Great bowl, cost me a bit but it is beautiful and creates a great bowl of lather.
I use a mug to hold the brush and work lather a bit before face lathering. Deep and flared wide is best.
To hold soaps snugly I have a few small bowls, like this with a DR Harris soap pushed in.

After reflection, I have a few that really work well for me. I know a lot of you have seen some of these before but I still get a kick out of them. I mostly do bowl lathering, but I find that with my boar brushes, a hard soap in a gravy boat works best. My synthetics really work well with bowl lathering.
