I received in the mail today, a long anticipated trade, my Merkur Futur! It was too late to shave with it, so it will have to be put off until tomorrow's shave. My question is where should I start? And with which blade? I have a great supply of many of the best blades. Anybody want to suggest a great jumping-off point(setting on Futur)? Blade combo?

I started on 1 with my favorite blade at the time. After that first shave I moved to 3 where I stayed until I felt comfortable with my skills. Now I move from 3 to full open depending on the direction of my pass.
How aggressive do you like?

For me, there's no point in going past 1.5, MAYBE 2.5 if I have extra growth. I always use a Feather.
Depends on how aggressive you are with your regular shave. I think that starting at 1 is not a bad idea, but you may want to be more adventuresome.
It's an aggressive shaver for me, I like it on 2 to 3 . Gives me great shaves good choice. Good luck with it
Not knowing your experience with agressive razors, I'd start low with your favorite blade for the first pass to get a feel for the tool. You can adjust for successive passes. You're going to love the way it sings! The audible feedback is awesome! My wife even notices it when we are in the bathroom together. Enjoy your new tool!

I started on my Futur several weeks ago. I started with a 6 and 3 for first and second pass and found blood. I gradually scaled back now use a 3 and 1.5, which seems about right for me.
Get in the habit of covering the head in a towel when changing settings with a blade installed. There's been more than one finger cut while trying to adjust these things.

I use mine with a Feather on 2 maybe 2.5

I have one that I used once, and set aside because it just seemed to bulky for getting in and cleaning up under and around my nose. I probably should give it another shot before I trade it though. Looks awesome too.

I used it today, on 2 with a 7o'clock yellow that had 1 shave on it. I was very, perhaps too gentle with it and got a "decent" shave. The blade felt rough in there, so could probably just be a match not suited to me. FWIW, I also used CF Lime, again usually a great performer. Lately nothing has been coming close to the shaves I'm getting with my 2013 r41! I'm not giving up on this baby though, 'cause I can already tell she just needs more open road to let loose! Don't give up - it's a fantastic razor! I'm new to DE Shaving, but splurged on the Futur and love it! I'm using an Astra SP on 1.5 right now. Love the auditory feedback! Enjoy!
I am set at 1.5 for all three passes when I use this razor.
I like Shark or Feather at 2.5 for all three passes.
I would go with the bulky comment myself. I cannot imagine anyone ever using anything above the 3 range and I wonder why it even has it.
