The best shaving brush

I have only a shaving brush: Simpsons Special Pure Badger.
I want to buy a bigger one. In your opinion, what would the best brand?
Thanks,

I'm a newcomer so I don't have a bunch of experience, but I just got a Rooney 3/1 Super and I feel it makes a better lather than my Savile Row Silvertip.

I'm sure you'll get a bunch more suggestions from members with more experience.

The best brush is the brush you like best.

That said, please read this.

What he said.

What do you like about your current brush? What do you dislike about it? What's a quality you wish it had?

Answer those questions for yourself, and then start looking.

There is no "one-size-fits-all" best brush. It's why we have folks who prefer best or pure badger to silvertip badger, and others who prefer boar to both.

Here is my best brush:

Rooney Finest 2 - luxurious, unique, soaps love it, creams want it
Rooney Heritage 2 - soft, dense and great for creams and soaps
C&E Pure - Cheap, scrubby, easy to lather with (1st brush, still use it)
C&E Super - So so soft and floppy, best to use with warm cream lather and scuttles due to it's size
Butterscotch/Golden Nib - soft with good flow through, always come back to this brush, plus it's butterscotch! butterscotch!
Plisson 8 - Horn Handle, great looker, best for face lathering, unique hairs

So for me, I still haven't settled on one brush yet as there is no best for me as I need variety and enjoy the individual differences of each brush.

My top three favorites are:

Simpsons Two-band Chubby 2
Rooney 3-1 in Finest
Shavemac D01 21mm/50mm

But for you, I would recommend a Rooney in Super. Great price, and then you'll have a nice quality brush by which to judge all your future purchases.

Great selection. All three are on top of my future brush list:thumbup:

I think that I have owned over 30 brushes in all and keep a rotation of 12. I'm still looking. Many brushes have great qualities but I am reluctant to classify any one of them as the best. An ivory Simpson, a horn 2-band Plisson, a no name boar, a Savile Row 3118, they are all great in their own way.
