After gauging interest in a pass around , of some sort, it seems that a journal has garnered the most interest. I think it's a fantastic idea, and hope it's something we can all have fun with.
I'm going to try and outline how I see it going. We can certainly change it around to best serve everyone, but these are my initial thoughts;
1) A traveling journal that will go from member to member ( who sign up and want to do it ) to be used as documentation for when you have it. A member will receive the journal, and have a set amount of time to write in it, however they see fit, then send it to the next member on the list. A couple of examples of such entries are, but not limited to; poems, forms of writing, talking about yourself, family, country, state, interests, other hobbies, drawing a picture, etc.
There are no limitations except B&B rules apply, and I will get to why that is important later in the post.
2) I think the best way to sign up is to quote the most recent list, add your name, then re post it. I think it will be easier for me than going through and trying to get the "I'm in's " and then making a list. ( Doug, let me know if we should do it a different way ) You are free to comment any way you see fit, with other posts, but let's try to keep the list, just the list.
3) It's my opinion that we need to have a cut off date, for signing up for the journal. That may change depending on how many initially sign up, but I have a goal for this journal that involves a time frame. ( explained below )
4) We may have to have a limit to the number of pages one gets, when contributing to the journal. ( again depending on how many people sign up ) I want everyone that wishes to contribute, the opportunity to do so.
5) Not sure how to go about getting the journal to someone oversees. I don't want to leave those out who wish to make an entry, but I haven't figured out the best way to possibly do it, or if it's even possible. ( opinions are welcome )
Now, my reason for the time table and why B&B rules apply to your entry.
It's my goal for the journal to make it's rounds, then find it's way into the "SAINT" Sue Moore Memorial Fundraiser Auction. I was hoping some of us could donate some items to go along with the journal. ( Pens, inks, paper, seals etc. ) If we get a lot of items, we could split them up into separate lots.
I will get with someone in the know and report back on the date to have materials entered into the auction.
I've rambled on enough, your opinions are welcome and much appreciated, so for now, I will start the list.
