The Ark of the covenant shaving soap...

This arrived not too long ago, and finally getting some pics up. Yes, I paid more than I wanted, but it's Yardley after all. Ironically, I haven't shaved with it yet...I sort of feel like Belloch in Raiders of the lost Ark.

" It's more beautiful than I could've imagined" ....Adds wet brush to soap, and ethereal, beuatiful lather turns into avenging angels, and melts face off.

yeah, that face-melting thing, that's why they don't make it anymore....

congratulations! that's a very very nice grab.

Jon, any idea as to the age of this Yardley? there is a price tag on the bottom from Sears and Roebuck for the exhorbitant sum of $ 1.00

In 1935 a buck was a days pay for many men.
Congratulations on your score!

Now, can we please see a better shot of that cutting board!:thumbup1:

Congratulations!

I hope you don't mind, but I am stealing part of one of your photos as an avatar. I haven't seen that artwork before, and I like it.

You Rascal! I know exactly which part you are going to use. That has to be a 1930s graphic. Those are quite distinctive.

You will have to rotate part of it 2.5 degrees or so.

turn it upside down, have a shave or two, turn it back up, and put it up... and salivate over it daily.... it is the only way.

Nice score!

I've only used one bowl of Yardley. That was back in the day when it was still being produced and available in local stores. As I recall, I liked it very much. I don't know why I did not get more of it, then. It was probably because it was expensive compared to what I was using - Colgate cup soap.

Since I am not a collector, I think soaps should be used. I say, "Go for it and report back."
