Thanksgiving Day Races

Any runners on B&B planning to race on Thanksgiving Day? Perhaps this thread could be a place to post what you are running, your goal and after the race, what your time actually was.

I'll start. I am running the Subaru Distance Classic half-marathon. Hoping to break 1:35. Might be a bit ambitious as life has gotten in the way of training, a bit.

I'm running a 4.6 mi Drumstick Dash Thanksgiving morning. I won't be racing it per se, I've coming off a year of injuries, this is just a fun run for a good cause (local homeless shelter).

I'm doing the usual 20 foot dash from the oven to the table, followed by the 30 foot crawl to the couch. If I feel like excercising, I'll go back for seconds.

I want to finish my run quickly so I can get home and make your Chipotle Sweet Potato recipe this year.

Tim - that's a great cause. Hope you heal up soon.
Bob - best of luck to you and your daughter!
Dirk - any luck finding a 10K? That's one of my favorite distances.

I am doing a 5 mile Turkey Trot in Austin Texas. I did 5 miles today in ~45 minutes so hopefully tomorrow I won't be too sore as it begins at 9am.
The proceeds go to a local charity that provides help for people below the poverty line in our area. Plus I won't feel so bad about eating my body weight in stuffing after the run. Happy thanksgiving all.

Have fun. I have to say Austin is one of the best places I have had the chance to visit. I could see myself living there one day.

Finished the half in 1:30:44. Close, but no cigar. Still very happy with result. Congrats to all on your results!

I have to agree with you. I've lived here for six years and can't see myself leaving.

I ran 5 miles in 40 minutes today, not bad. A lot of people were out and it was a lot of fun. People dressed up as turkeys, pilgrims, etc. A lot of fun.

Nice time MrSpeedy!
