TGN brushes

I am doing my first brush restoration and need some input. TGN has a UK-24mm Silvertip and a 24mm Grade-A Silvertip. Is it worth the twenty extra bucks for the UK? Or should I ditch silvertip altogether and get a 2-band finest with extra hair? This is for my dad who is new to wetshaving, so I want to start him out right.

I faced that dilemma a couple months ago. I went with the Grade A. I don't see how the UK one would be so much better as to be worth an extra 20 unless it's got a lot more backbone. I was leaning toward the UK knot just because of my bias against Chinese stuff, but the Chinese one is a great knot. I got the 22 mm I think. Super Soft, but maybe a bit floppy for soaps. I use a Finest for that anyway.
