Tester bottles?

I have been searching for the best price I can find on a bottle of Creed Bois Du Portugal and I found a tester bottle for around $107 for a 2.5 ounce bottle.
Is there any draw back to a tester bottle?
Not alot of sites have BDP in stock,I think this will mean the stuff in stock will be fresh,am I right in thinking this?

Paul:

I know nothing on pricing of this particular fragrance. But, generally, testers are identical to the original scent, often sans cap and box. The only draw back I can think of is if the bottles are stored in a nicely lit area; since they're not boxed, UV rays may be entering the bottle and tainting the product.

Tangentially, be mindful of the reputation of the place you purchase from; baldly stated, they may be selling grey market (at best) juice.

Similarly, just because only a few places carry it (I assume you are looking online?) doesn't mean its any fresher than if it was stocked in every corner drugstore. But, provided it has been stored properly, edt's and colognes can and often do last years, virtually unchanged from the day they were bottled.

Best of luck with the scent-hunt!

Well, now I don't know what to think.I knew there was a reason the tester bottle was so much cheaper.
I think I will just pay more for the non-tester bottle.
All of the sites I have looked at seem to think they are all reputable sites but I really don't know a reputable site vs a non reputable site.I wish a B&B vendor sold Creed.

I have bought testers of various scents and usually do not worry about it. Most are never on a shelf in a store but are a way, I suspect, of a house selling some juice at a discount, perhaps to gray market channels or that end up in gray market channels. For instance, Penhaligons, as I understand it, has two company "discount" stores in Great Britian at which they sell absolutely reliable Penhaligon's juice in bottles in plain white boxes, I think without caps, but for sure without the little ribbons around the neck, and I think these are referred to as testers.

All bets are off Creed, or at least a Creed scent as popular as Bois de Portugal with me though. I do not understand Creed's sales channels--I think a lot of legit Creed ends up in the gray market--and there is more counterfeiting of Creed than of other scents.

Yea,the last thing I want is some fake juice.
The lowest price I have found for non tester is $160 and for a tester is $107.
I am still testing other scents so if some has a sale I can purchase all of the scents that make the cut at the same time.
Thanks for the comments.
