Ted Pella Carbon and Stainless Blades?

I am wanting to buy some bulk SE blades and was wondering if the Ted Pella Carbon blades would be similar to the CVS blades I am currently using. Another question is, are the stainless non coated blades worth the price difference? Thanks for your input.

If they are the regular carbon blades, think of them like the Chevy Vega, a car of which it was said began rusting in the showroom.

The Pal Blue Carbon blades are good, but they don't last as long as the coated stainless steel blades.

My advice is to go for the coated stainless blades and a pack of the blue carbon steel blades.

Or you could wait and see if another group buy is imminent.

The CVS carbon blades shouldn`t rust as long as you remove them from your razor, dry them off, and set them aside in a dry spot after each use. Mine don`t, and that`s per the directions from Gem back in the 1950s, dry off after use. I use this blade and love it.

The Personna Gems found at Walgreens are stainless, and many believe they are uncoated. I find them good performers.

"Anything stainless in SE shreds me for some reason."

Have you tried "hand/palm stropping" them prior to use? I find that a quick strop smooths out the shave quite a bit.

Never used carbon SE blades but am a big fan of the Ted Pella's SS & PFTE coated ones. Great blades! Bought them in bulk from Ted Pella.
