Tea Noob...

I have been looking around here and have become somewhat intrigued by the idea of loose teas.

I already enjoy hot tea, and I think I would like this. My only thing is I don't know what to try. I think I want to get a gaiwan and do it that way, but as far as tea goes, I am lost.

I have liked earl grey tea and basically the whole twinnings starter, lol. I am just lost when it comes to green tea, oolong, pureh tea. I just don't know. Can someone give me some guidance?

Thanks.

I got some good tips here recently, but not really on specific variety. Try a few samplers from various categories and explore what interests you after that.

This does, however, suggest that perhaps a Tea "FAQ" or "Newbie Guide" would be nice :thumbup1:

Go for a gaiwan learn to master it, as for teas you need to sample until you find more or less what you like. Dont forget to watch your temperature when brewing :biggrin1:

The tea path is a long and endless one

Plain old black Indian tea can be extremely good with good leaf quality. However, to limit oneself to this varietal is a bit like limiting oneself to one kind of wine. It may be satisfying but you never will know what you are missing.

Well what ordered was actually from JAS-eTea and really hope it's here by tomorrow, I'm very excited lol.

I thought it would be good to support a fellow b&b guy.
