T&H Roadster dopp-fake leather; T&H brush?

Just wanted to let everyone know that I ordered the Truefitt and Hill roadster wet pack (military roll style dopp kit) for my husband's bday as I thought it was leather and it looked great. (I am the one that can't stop buying shaving stuff!) Well, it isn't leather and is in fact, "The Dopp kit is made of Leather trim and Synthetic Leather body (syn lea is water-resistant). We use a high-end manufacturer, who also produces under their own label." For $125? Hmmm. Returning it--have to paying shipping back.

Will get a Daines and Hathaway when they get in stock (both classicshaving.com and qedusa.com are out) Problem is his birthday is tomorrow. BUMMED! any one know of a local (ventura, the sf valley or L.A.) place I might find the D& H? Thanks!

Also I got the T&H classic silvertip in small as I read somewhere on this forum that they were basically the Rooney 3/1 and I was trying to put together a wet shaving travel kit. I have no idea what the rooney feels like but I did get DH the sevile row silvertip in I think 3124 or some such size when he first started wet shaving and it was super soft...the T&H not so much...pretty scratchy and stiff. does that sound right? if not, I'll send that back too. Love their shave soaps and creams but pretty much questioning the rest. Thanks again!

I just bought a T&H super badger this week and I'm really happy with it. It's still being broken in so is not at its softest or most absorbent but I suspect it will become my favourite brush in time.

So do you think the T/H brush is denser than the savile row? And I guess do you think that I should keep the Classic t/h silvertip for his travel? or switch it out to the 3118?

Also, any suggestions on another leather military wet pak? One that has a place for the brush and de razor? Would like one that is quite nice without taking a loan out! He never spends anything on himself so it is up to me to fulfill the serious AD--but I am willing to sacrifice myself if I must. p.s. don't be scared to answer b/c I am female...many hours of research goes into my buying disorders!
