Did anyone else see the movie Sweeny Todd just because there was a cool looking straight razor in the picture? I'll admit I did. I actually enjoyed the movie. Not too many musicals are rated R.

Yeah it was fun to watch, I have heard that the original musical was better (and was longer) but I've never seen it.

I didn't watch it for that purpose the first time I saw it, but after starting DE shaving and watching it again I did.
What I thought was interesting was that back in those times with just some of the equipment that most members on this forum have, you could open up a shop a start barbering..

Any time I try to explain my new shaving hobby I get, "Oh like Sweeny Todd"? Eh, not exactly. It's a fun musical but he goes a bit beyond BBS...
I hate musicals, when my wife put it on as soon as they started singing i walked out of the room.
saw it, thought it was alright, the singing was bearable (i dont mind some musicals, little shop of horrors and the like 
but i saw a little of it again the other day and it was really annoying so i think it gets old quick. hes really bad at stropping in the shave off part too.

I think that was the only part of the film I really enjoyed. The rest was kind of tedious and the songs/singing were not all that great. I also think that they should have taken creative license and changed the name of Adolfo Pirelli to Adolfo Proraso.

it was definately one of the better parts, i just wouldnt really want to be shaved with that blade after the edge had been scraped along the strop like that.
