How do you tell a no date code Super Speed from a Ranger Tech?

The Ranger Tech has a smooth band just above the TTO knob, while the SS is fully knurled.

Thank you. I was looking at one and I was born in 1947. Didn't want to buy a ranger Tech by mistake.
Note that the 1947 SS did not have a notch in the blade centering bar, and had "wings" on each end of that center bar. Check out the link in Guido's signature for more info on dating SuperSpeed razors. It's a great reference.
I was born in '47, too, and the SuperSpeed from that year is not cheap. But they shave great.
Yup. One of a handful of single year models that Gillette put out including my favorite, the 1930 NEW DeLuxe. None are cheap, but the uniqueness is cool.
