Super Bowl food

Just wondered what all of you good folks are cooking for the Super Bowl? Im looking for ideas. I am a novice cook. Thanks all

An absolutely ridiculous potluck is always a great idea, that's what I'm doing, and I'm bringing two trays of my ridiculous macaroni and cheese.

I always make two pots of chili. One for my guests and one for me....No no no, my pot is a small one scooped off the big one but it's heat level is brought up to my standards...:yikes:

Real nachos with cheese, chili, lettuce, and pico de gallo
Carrots and Ranch dressing (it makes your eyes HD)
Chicken Wings
Pretzels
Hot Dogs (the best come from a butcher not named Oscar Mayer)
Burgers
Bratwurst
Cheese Fries

These are ideas. I usually pick one of those choices and it is normally the homemade nachos. I make my own chili the night before and let it get nice and thick in the fridge overnight. It takes mere minutes to make, when the game gets going.

We're having gumbo this year (made by yours truly). Go Saints.

And of course in the pre-gumbo hours there will be, as we call it in the Burns household, an, "hors d'oeuvres platter," which consists of a cheese log, summer sausage, saltines, smoked oysters, salsa w/cream cheese, tortilla chips, fresh guacamole, hot sausages, artichoke hearts, colby longhorn, shrimp, and good bread.

my homemade chili cheese dip - I make chili from scratch and then add queso blanco - and hot wings.

Smoked chicken wings on the Big Green Egg. Wings get moistened with lemon juice, a liberal coating of Paul Prudhomme's Blackened Redfish Magic, and a couple of hours in the smoker.

With a plateful of these and a few Sam Adams, I don't even care who wins.

Well I'm in the process of planning now, but usually there are real Buffalo style wings with my fresh blue cheese dressing, ribs, chili, brats in beer 'n onions, Freshly fried corn and flour tortilla with guacamole.

+1

We also have a family tradition of fried chicken and potato salad. Finger food, but stick to you ribs at the same time.
