Suggest a brush for me, please!

I hate to admit this, but my morning routine is to rub a soap puck on my face, "lather" it with wet fingers, then shave. Works for me, after a fashion.
Can anyone suggest a brush for face lathering? Must be inexpensive!

Can't beat a Semogue 1305, a QAULITY cheap brush. Ok it's boar, but does the business, and does it well.

I agree. A good boar can make just as good lather as a badger, at a fraction of the cost. They're also generally good for face lathering.

You can get a quality Omega boar for $10-20. Semogue boars are $20-30. Both are excellent for face lathering. The Semogue 620 in particular seems to be agreed upon as the most dedicated face lather brush they have. I like my face lathering brushes to be a bit bigger and use the Semogue Owners Club brush myself and can say it is an excellent all around brush.

Thank you all, gentlemen.
Is the brush they sell at Target any good?
I saw this the other day, can't remember the maker.

The brush you are referring to is the Shea Moisture Shaving Brush and I have a bunch on sale in the B/S/T pretty much at cost, tax + S/H that i sourced for B&B members as many Targets don't carry them. I used them for face lathering when I went on vacation and it worked great.

I'll second the Semogue 620. Great for face lathering. I've also got a Semogue 1305, but I prefer it's larger loft for bowl lathering.

An Omega 10065 is about $10.00. I love it more and more every time I use it. It has soft tips and excellent backbone. It's great with soap, but if you tend to use cream, it does take significantly more work.

Instead of the 10065, I'd go ahead and recommend the Omega 11574 or 81052 models instead. I'm breaking one in right now, and it uses the same knot as one of my custom boar brushes (middle, in the VDH in antique blue thread). The tips are actually rather soft, and it provides enough backbone to face lather properly. Not as much as I'd like, but enough, and it can efficiently lather both creams and hard soaps.

I bought the Mayfair badger brush from Vulfix's London Series and use it all the time. It was around $29 from Shoebox Shaveshop. I as well like the Semogue 1305 boar. Just my 2 cents!:001_smile
