Strop recommendations for a deployed guy

I think I found a sweet, shave ready razor in the classified section. I am now going to need a strop for maintenance... I am deployed to Iraq and will be here for about 4 more months. I am somewhat limited on space over here and will probably have to mail home what I can't carry.

So my questions are:

1. With 4 months to go (probably 3 by the time everything arrives) can I get by with just a strop?

2. Would a paddle be a better bet than a standard hanging strop? OR should I go for a 4 sided paddle with the diamond spray?

I would suggest a Paddle strop since it's easier to transport, and you won't need to find something sturdy to hang it from. I'd also recommend SRD's Paddle strop (probably not the modular one... Less to take care of that way) or one of Neil Miller's paddle strops... The shipping will be a bit pricey though.

And, yes, for 3-4months, if you have good technique, you won't need anything other than a strop.
