Stroke of genius (reverse writing on little lather catcher)

I sincerely hope that someone will manufacture a modern SE in the little lather catcher design (1912, Gem Junior, etc.). As you all know, the performance is perfect and the design is near perfect. Maybe the head could be made smaller to get in under the nose? Hmm...

Anyway...

Yesterday, I was shaving with a 1912 clone (brass Star with a fat bakelite "Parade" handle) and it struck me that the engraving on the back of the razor should be reversed so that it shows the right way when looking into a mirror.

Just a thought and if I ever designed a modern razor, it would be a detail of quality that I would include.

I don't know, I can just imagine myself shaving along and then squinting to read what my razor says... ow!

I do wonder why nobody has tried to imitate the design though. Not as a mass produced item, but as a "custom" made one. The patents on the designs must of surely expired. If they actually do expire, which I am not sure of.
