Streamline

I won a streamline on the Sue Moore auctions and gave it a go today.

First pass was with the Streamline
Second pass was with my special handled 1912.
Third pass was started with the Streamline and finished with the 1912.

I gotta say, I like the 1912 better.

Streamline are more aggressive shavers then the 1912's there for if you shave everyday streamline may not work for you but if you shave every 2-3 then it maybe be your best bet, as always YMMV

Handle is Black Buffalo Horn. With my arthritic fingers the original handles on the 1912 are way to small. This handle is super light but has some surface to it. The streamline handle is also a bit small, but this handle fits that as well.

The Streamline is my everyday razor and personal favorite among all the DE and SE razors I've owned.It's unfortunate it didn't feel right for you.I've found the Streamline to be more responsive than the 1912's.Shaving with it frequently has helped me learn the razor's subtleties.If you give it some time and play with shaving angle/technique,you may be surprised...

Interesting. To me the Streamline feels very similar to the 1912, just a bit heavier. I find the Streamline to be a remarkable razor.

I don't find that much difference in the shave I get from a 1912 and the "Streamline", other than the "Streamline" feels like a much higher quality razor from a manufacturing standpoint.

Well, I have a the GEM Damaskeene (with a long odd handle) that could be argued to fit in the "normal" 1912 line. Probably the most efficient shaver on earth. DEs included- and I have quite a few of those by now.. No sign of a 5 o´clock shadow. Compared to the Streamline I guess the Damaskeene wins (by a close margin mind you) BUT I am willing to sacrifice the effiency on the altar of the Streamline. As everybody knows the Streamline is the BEST looking razor ever. AND it´s floors most others. Both are keepers.

I own a complete Streamline double set in mint condition in the case. Paid too much at the height of the Streamline craze.

I've yet to use it. Not sure why, but maybe because it's in such like new shape. Plus I get such great shaves with other SE razors, I'm not really on the hunt for a great SE tool at this time.

Jeff: Really can't go wrong with any one of those 3,effective and fun to shave with...Unlike the cars,I've got extras of each of 'em for backup,cause they're that damn nice.I've got enough single edge blades to last me for more than the next 8 years and going to buy some more.It's the Single Edge blade that's magic.I can shave circles around any Double Edge razor I've owned at any price with any one of the 3 aforementioned razors however,I shave with the Streamline most of the time....it works best on my face.

Razor crazes & hype muddy the waters at times,I like what I like.

I was unimpressed with my first few shaves with a Streamline. Then with a slight angle change it started performing great. I think the angle is a bit different due to the way the head holds the blade.

Brian, try less pressure and only use the Streamline, it it more aggressive than 1912 design but more effective too.
