Strange camera problem

Hi guys,

I have a Panasonic DMC TZ5 camera and since yesterday something is definitely wrong with it.
The strange problem is that every picture I take seems okay in the camera preview, but when I upload it to my PC the pictures seem... uh... how can I describe it... elongated to the sides, fat, completely out of bound.
I tried to change just about every option in the camera but nothing helps.
Any ideas maybe?

Could it be the screen resolution?

If you right click the picture after transferring it to the PC, what are the dimensions of the photo?
If they are about 3:2 the photo is OK, and it must be the screen that shows it wrong - maybe some kind of automatic "fit to screen".

Yes, they about 3:2. I've also tried other options but all is the same :(
And I've used this camera and the PC for a long time, and everything was okay.

Can you please describe what is wrong in the photo being we are not familiar with the subject.
I re-read your initial post "elongated to the sides, fat, completely out of bound" and I am not sure how to relate it to what we are seeing.

I don't know how to describe this either. The objects in the picture are kinda... stretched to the sides, they should be... narrower.

Tried it on another computer and all seemed okay. What the hell could it be?
Check the monitor settings on the problematic computer. Sounds like it may be set to some odd aspect ratio, like the way some HD TVs mangle the image when displaying a 4:3 image in 16:9 format.

AR try this; go into the camera settings and resett to factory. My Son had this same problem with his Sony dive camera, he changed something but could not remember what it was so we just did a resett.

I'd go with this as it appears to be fine to me.
