Can anyone tell me if Stonehaven is worth paying a 10.00 premium over? I found a source but wonder if I should buy it without trying it first.

Oh just once can something be NOT worth it! Aaaargh! This place is making me go broke. :letterk2:

In theory? Certainly. But Stonehaven is one of the greatest tobaccos I ever tried. As a full, smooth, lush "dessert" smoke, it has no peer.

I found Stonehaven good, but no more exciting to me than other good VA. Any tips to get the best experience?

I think the enjoyment was tempered by the nic hit, which tend to make me sick regardless of how much food I have.

I was more impressed with Penzance.

Penzance is great, but more prone to drying than any other blend I ever had. Key to Stonehaven? Slow, slow, slow. And you're not kidding about that nicotine wallop.

Thanks everyone, but apparently crossing your fingers doesn't help much...:(

It was 39.95 btw.

I just bought a bag for $35 at Milan (sold out) yes it's worth it, I don't normally like this type of tobacco but this one I like, if for some odd reason you didn't like it you wouldn't be stuck with it, it's fairly sought after and in high demand so someone would take it off hands. smooth, mellow and sweet, when I opened the bag it smell strongly of beer, top notch stuff IMO.

AFAIK Stonehaven is a blend of VA's and burley's. I don't think Penzance has any burley. It does have that Jabba the Hutt bottom of the nicotene barrel hit and the flavor is huge. Smaller bowl, go slow, don't leave the house or drive heavy machinery....(in or out of the house...)

I caved too, a couple days ago when one of you fine gents gave me the heads up. I wanted to hold out for the more reasonable $$, but I'm with ouch on this one. It is one of my favorites, and I have less than two oz. on hand. I got two bags as well.
