I know, I'm not the first one to say this and probably not the last...

I counted my straights this morning to know how much room I have in my pouch
(http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?p=1520070)

I have room for a total of 24 straights and I now own 24 straights. Some of them are being restored at the moment and others are just in there. I'm trying to fix a few of them myself so I will just need a honer to finish the job.

I started my collection in July 2009... SWMBO even commented that my collection would be worth a pretty penny in the future... I plan to keep them and use them...

I will need to sell a few to make room for new razors as I have a list of razors that I need to buy. My list is short but will be a Friodur, a razor that says 'Montreal' and a modern razor.

All I'm saying is that I will need to sell 3 to gain those 3. If I get another pouch that can hold 24 straights, I will be in serious troubles... :bored:

I've been bitten as well. I only have two now, but I think I am picking up another tomorrow. And so it begins. :scared:

If a straights is in good shape how much is it worth?

I keep seeing them at antiques shops for $15-30. they look ok

I don't know anything about straights

Depends on 'good shape', size, condition of the blade, scales, brand, etc.

If you have a few pictures it would be easier to judge if it's a good deal or not.

What you don't want is cracks on the blade or chips. A twisted blade is no good.

I got some straights for very cheap that were worth way more and got straight for a price that I shouldn't pay (too expensive). You live and learn. I'm no expert at buying straights but I'm starting to understand how pick-up a good deal.

Correct. A bit like the one you sent me that was saying 'Melbourne'. I know there's at least one...

ahhh, cool! there should be a fair few around.

from $0 to thousands, really. It all depends on the straight itself

If I get another pouch that can hold 24 straights ...

You will do this.

Maybe you think you won't, but eventually you will. Face it, accept it, and have it shipped to your work address.

so true.. we all think alike
I am over my SRAD, but man am I getting hit hard by HAD now.. those natural stones are so good..and expensive :(

I think I enjoy my SRAD the most. I have a slight SSAD but nothing serious. Of course I'm not that old so there's plenty of time for the other ADs to develop.

I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night screaming:

"Get out of my head razors!"

"Get out of my head!"

I'm fighting... :tongue_sm
