Spring Break Options 2012 - (already :|)

Hi guys.
Still very gutted im going too be missing spring break 2011 and instead attending cancun in first week of june 2011.
Im from the UK and am 20 years old.
Been on many 'boys' holidays around europe but looking too experience a different variety of people rather than our usual lot over here whom a majority have little class.
Im going too be booking soon after christmas about a year in advance purely because prices are cheapest then with our travel agents.
Have many of you been on spring break and if so wheres hot at the moment.
Ive looked at Key West and Miami so far.
And i am looking for the full experience ;)
Thanks

I can't say with certainty, as I have never been to the UK. However, I don't believe you'll find the US spring break experience to be any classier than others. It's mostly an excuse for college students to get blackout drunk and have sex with a new stranger every day for a week or so.

Does spring break at universities in the UK correspond to spring break at universities in the US (typically March)? If so then you have plenty of choices. If not you need to find either a city that always has fun (Miami, New Orleans, Vegas, etc.) or plan a trip around something besides partying.

I'll say that I did a summer in Costa Rica when I was in college that was fabulous even without the typical spring break crowd. There was a ton of nightlife in San José even though the main university was between terms and a pretty good public transit system that could get you all over the country. And for exploring there were volcanoes, rain forests, dry plains, swamps, and of course fabulous beaches. The people were friendly, relatively well educated, most spoke at least some English, and the country is quite stable and has a low crime rate. Really an awesome place to visit.

Hi luke. I feel I have my whole life in front of me to get through them experiences however little time to experience the partying that goes on during spring break. I'm not actually a student im a self employed scaffolder so I will be taking the time off from about March 7th. Partying over here say in greece, spain or similar looks a hell of alot different from that in spring break. Ie amounts of people, games. Wet the shirts etc etc. I'd like to experience this to say that I have done it. That's why I'm slowly regretting booking cancun for this June coming as I may not get an experience anything like this.

I hear you. Well, there is always mardi gras in new orleans. That is usually in February and will give you a plethora of partying of all kinds. Stay closer to downtown for more of the drunken debauchery. Uptown is a lot of fun as well but tends to be more family friendly, though the University area will be hopping with a seemingly endless swath of drunken college kids having a good time.

If you're looking for an MTV - style spring break, then any of the big destinations in Florida will fit the bill. I never did it myself, but I doubt you're going to find there are too many differences between the major beach party towns.
