Splashes irritate me. Sadface.

Which splashes are you talking about? Bite can come from alcohol or menthol. If alcohol is the irritant, perhaps witch hazel with menthol added will work for you? Or, WH and tea tree oil or something.

Hmm, interesting information. The only splashes I've used are alcohol AND menthol. I'll have to try some more and see what's causing it.
Splashes are supposed to sting. BUT they should not leave you with tomato face for an hour after the shave.
I would try one without menthol as the other guy suggested.
Another thing, make sure you don't overdo it. Wet your hands and face before application. Pour a small amount into your hand and rub your hands together before gently patting your hands over your face. That will cut down on the sting and the drying effect of the alcohol.
