Spicy Recommendations?

So i finally started getting into decants and frags. Found I'm drawn to spicy scents either with bergamot or black pepper top notes, and even lavender (Think burberry london, or Oscar dela Renta for men) Of course, I understand the dry down is important, but hey, Im just getting started.

So, i have come to ask the opinion of B&B's frag experts for suggestions. Anything else a must try in this category? Help me go Cookoo for decants!

Thanks for the help gents.:biggrin1:

Kiehl's Pour Homme is similar to the Oscar de la Renta you mentioned. Don't let the fact that it comes in a small roll-on bottle deter you from giving it a try.

Lorenzo Villoresi Uomo is nice.

Thank you, i'll give that a try as well!

Ha duly noted, i know Kiehl's has a great repuatation. Thank you!

A few of the spicy ones in my collection:

Since you mention black pepper you have to think about Lorenzo Villoresi Piper Negrum - black pepper. I haven't tried this one but can't ignore the name ;-)

From scents I own with prominent black pepper, I'd suggest:

Penhaligon's Opus 1870 - black pepper, rose and cedar. A nice, masculine, easy to wear rose

L'Occittane eau de L'Occittan - black pepper, lavender, nutmeg and burnt wood. Great fall/winter scent for the price

If you're open to other spices there are too many to name but a few I'll mention:

L'Occittane Eaux de Baux: 'spotlight' frag this month. It opens with pink peppercorns that fade into incense and cypress which gradually give way to vanilla. Another fall/winter winner from L'Occittane

Sonoma Scent Studio Sienna Musk: musk blended with spicy woods. Spices here are classic fall spices of nutmeg, cardamom, ginger and cloves. Nice scent from a house that deserves more attention. I especially like the fact that thesexare extraits and can be purchased in small sizes - perfect for the insane among us that own dozens (hundreds?) of scents

Tauer Eau d'Epices: not my favorite from Tauer but still compelling. A dry but rich swirl of spices, woods and resin with a touch of orange asxwell

Some good suggestions here. Spicebomb is kind of a "scent du jour" being a recent release in frag terms. I am always cynical about those, but sampled it recently and it is quite good. It opens more sweetly than the usual wet shaver type is going to,like, but it settles into a nice spicy scent.

Tauers L'Air du Desert Marocain is a modern masterpiece and may be worth a sniff if you like a dry, spicy kind of scent. Heavy amber and vanilla. But as a niche frag, it will be way more distinctive than Spicebomb.

You are fortunate to live in SoCal, so the Scent Bar on Beverly Boulevard is within reach. Go in there and ask for spicy and your head will be reeling in 10 minutes.

that L Occitan is very peppery. You may like it.

I dont like spicy peppery scents, but agree that the Loccitan and Spicebomb fit what you're requesting. I find Allure Homme to be peppery spicy too, as with Ferragamo F Black. There's a Penhaligon's that's spicy too - OPUS 1870. It is peppery cedar scent. On the expensive side, there is a Hermanessense that has poivre in the name.

Blenheim Bouquet has a prominent pepper note with lemon and pine.
The One Gentleman has a pepper top note wil fennel and caradmom and other spices
Bang! by marc jacobs just smells like you ground black pepper on you...weird
Halston Z-14 is pretty cinnamony
terre d'hermes is fairly peppery with orange
L'Eau D'Issey is very light but it's actually full of spices
Dirty English is peppery like gucci PH
Tea for Two is a very spicy tea scent tho i think discontinued
Fou d'Absinthe is also very spicy
Idole de Lubin EdP is a heavy boozy spicy mix
tabac is actually a pretty spicy floral and even has a pepper note
Old Spice says it right in the name!
Incensed Short Fuse by smell bent is a HUGE blast of cardamom and peppery incense
Ikon by zirh is a spicy incense

Just occurred to me that no one had mentioned bay rums here, lots of them are spicy. Ogallala even has one that includes lime and peppercorns. My favorites tend to be mors towards simple bay laurel but many include clove and other spices. If you want to try bay rums, the Barclay Crocker sampler is a great place to start

I would try L'Occittane Eaux des Baux and Spicebomb. I really enjoy both.

Will do! thank you!

I should put a bay rum or two in rotation just to check them out, they always contain really good hints of cinnamon. Thank you!

Wow! thank you guys! this is certainly an embarrassment of suggestions! Cant wait to try them!

Amouage Honour Man has a lot of pepper. Too much for me, but if pepper's your thing, you may want to give it a try.

For something a little different in the spice department, there's Serge Lutens Santal de Mysore, which has a prominent cumin note.

+1 on L'Occitan by L'Occitane and Opus 1870 by Penhaligon's. Peppery is the first thing that comes to mind right after you apply these two. The Opus 1870 has cedar as well..... a very nice rendition.

You may want to try Perry Ellis Man. It has a strong pepper note and it is fairly low priced. I like it, I think I like Zirh Ikon a little better but they are both great, low priced, spicy scents.
