Source for Dark Blue 7 O'Clock Gillettes?

I bought some of these off the Bay a while back, and found them to be that absolute best blade I ever put to my face. This morning I realized I was down to two packs left. I went to order some more, and could not find hide nor hair of them on all of Ebay. Anybody know of any current source for these blades? If so, I'd truly love a hookup.

To be totally clear, they are the Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum, made in Russia, and come in a dark blue/black wrapper.

I've never seen those. The only 7 O'Clock Super Platinum blades I know of are the black packaged, made in India blades.

The only Gillette blades I've seen that come in a dark blue/black wrapper are the Polsilver, made in Poland.

Pic or link?

Photos would be nice. I know not of the blades of which you speak. I know the green Russians, the yellow Russians, the geen Indians, and the black Indians.

Yeah, they exist.

I saw them on UK ebay a while back.

Not sure where to get them now.

Them's the ones. They absolutely, without a doubt are the best blade I've ever used. They seem sharper than the yellows, and smoother than the red pack Israelis for me. I hope some show up somewhere soon. I would rate them every bit the equal(or just maybe the superior) to the oh so fantastic Swedes.

Another member here found some dark blue 7 O'clock Super Platinums in my local area, but they were made in the Czech Republic. I never went to that store or used them, but it's the only other time I've see or heard of a dark blue 7 O'clock.

Maybe they are the same as the black pack? I believe the black pack are sharper and smoother than ANY blade I've tried,Feather,Crystal,Derby,Red Personna, the other 3 7oclock types and others in between.

Have you tried the Iridium Super blades? Made by Gillette in their Russian factory. They're frequently described that way.

That picture just looks washed out to me. I'd say those are just the black Super Platinum's. I have a hard time believing that Gillette would offer two different blades with the same name.

I don't think it's washed out. Besides the OP says that they look like that in person, so unless he is some kind of strange color-blind I'd have to say that they are just uncommon. Anyway Gillette has no problem with selling the same products under different names, why not sell different products under the same name?

Gillette has done two major re-shufflings of its DE blade production: One in the early '90's when it acquired plants in Lodz, Poland and St. Petersburg, Russia, and closed down plants like the one in Annecy, France.

The second re-shuffling came after P&G acquired Gillette in 2005, and most DE blade production was moved to St. Petersburg. Also DE production began in places in the Far East, like Vietnam.

I doubt Gillette would make blades under the same name in two different places at the same time, even if the package color is a little different. The blades in the blue wrapper from Russia are very likely out of production, replaced by the black and white ones from India.

They're definitely Russian. Package says "Made in St Petersburg" right on the side.

I may try some of the Iridiums to see if they work on my face as well as the blue ones. I'll tryo some of the Indian black packs too since they seem pretty well rated.

I have not seen russian made 7oclock super platinums. However i do know that b&b member dridiot sells blue pack russian made gillette platinums and a very reasonable price. they sound like Exactly what your talking about, only they are the new russian version of swedes and are just called platinums not super platinums.

I think these are probably a different blade, but unless they can be compared directly with a blue pack 7 o'clock who would know? For sure they've been around for a long time, long before the demise of the swedes, which they're nothing like, and nothing like as good as - though ymmv. Just another product off the line in St Petersburg. It's pretty amazing how many very different blades come out of this factory - seem to be different steel stock, different coatings, different edge profiles, and different grades of finishing. I guess it's all market driven in the end.

+1 - The black pack I use is sharper and smoother than all other blades I've tried (Feathers may be sharper but they are not smoother)
