Burt's Bees Bay Rum cologne (first try) Faaaantastic!
Yesterday I recieved Penhaligon's current promotional magazine. And in the men's fragrance section there is no longer any LP No.9 and no Douro EdT. I believe the Lord's is similar or the same as Douro. The bad news for me is the LP No.9, which along with Endymion, is in my top 5 men's scents

I did my prep correctly, took my time, shaved deliberately and methodically, and got a 90% BBS shave. I say "90%" because, with my beard, four shaves from a Merkur blade (probably any blade) just ain't gonna happen; at least, not at the 100% BBS level. The upside is that my technique is getting much better, and I finished with nary-a-nick; to be completely fair, I attribute a portion of today's success to the "mild" nature of the razor's head-blade geometry -- things might be different with a new blade, but I know what an "aggressive" head-blade geometry feels like, and this razor is "mild" (or, at least, "regular").
Bottom-line: I'm a happy camper!
I really need a table tripod and macro lens for my Canon PowerShot A70 camera, so that I can post pix of it, in the hope of more-accurately identifying it.
It's a three-piece razor, with closed-bar head. The top piece has the typical protruding bars on the underside, on either side of the clamping screw, to hold the blade; but the opposing base piece lacks the corresponding slot -- instead, there's a large, "bas-relief" triangle, into which the bars fit. When assembled, the head pieces don't move at all, so the length of the bars exactly match the inner dimension of the triangle. The handle is knurled, with a flat, rounded-edge bottom, and vertical ridges (also knurled) running almost its full length; however, the upper fifth of the handle (before the screw-cap) is "fluted", but not knurled.
So many words! A photo or two would be much simpler, eh?
Less than 24 hours before my previous shave, so just a quick 2-passer today.
