Someone suggest a canned goo to use...

Ok, I have never honestly use one of these canned goos we all seem to hate. So for a bit of a laugh I am going to try one, just so I know why they are so bad. Most seem to be available in a small travel size, so which one is best.

I don't know what's available in the UK, but I'd recommend visiting the market or chemist for a travel-sized one; no need to buy a full can. I'd pick one of the Gillette concoctions if available.

I can't remember the last time I have used canned goo, however the general consensus around here seems to be that Aveeno is the best choice.

I've seen Gillette in most places, but there seems to many different ones.

I picked up a travel size proraso foam in a pharmacy in Paris, still havent tried it though. But Paris isnt far from Cornwall from an Aussie perspective,:thumbup1: so maybe they have it around your way.

Since your here in the uk, palmolive is not bad, and dirt cheap, about .80p, i was always happy to use this when i had a cartridge, jump up in price and the boots no 7 gel is very good, £7.00, and if you can get bald guyz, wonderful stuff, carried on using this even when i switched to a de to use it up.

Look for Speick in the review section, some people say that it is some of the best canned goo out there.

This is an excellent answer.
Both Proraso and Barbasol are truly great products.
Also, regarding Barbasol, its best shaving foam is, in my opinion, the lanolin based "yellow can".

I can get Yellow Barbasol off Amazon UK for £2.10.

If you're going to try one to see just how bad it is, shouldn't you be asking for the recommendation on the one that is the worst?

Barbasol is probably the lesser of the evils of canned goo.
It will work in a pinch but is still light years behind even a basic glycerin soap and a brush.

This is what I was thinking. Well, maybe not the worst, but one that is simply average.

IMO, just get any variety of Gillette foam. Gillette is probably an "average" canned goo. Although I've never tried it, Barbasol is considered one of the "best" canned foams available....so I would recommend it for these purposes.

If, on the other hand, you're simply trying to see if people are simply blowing the canned goo hate out of proportion, then get the Barbasol. It will give you an idea of the best results you can get from a canned goo.

When I was still using cartridges, I made the switch from foam to gel a long time ago. The gel was simply more substantial and was much easier to work into the skin.

Canned goo or canned foam? Goo is like the Gillette products that come out as a gel and become a foam (well, sort of) on your face. Canned foam comes out as a foam/lather product. I like Noxzema Sensitive Skin foam. The best of the canned foam, IMO.

I have a couple of old cans of Shulton Old Spice and they work fine. Of the currently available stuff, I'd say Barbisol. Not bad at all.

i happen to love gillette foamy lemon lime. barbasol is an excellent choice as well.

if you're looking for gels you might want to try the nviea or king of shaves. though the king of shaves is more goo in a tube.
