Solutions for Cella burn?

I recently got a little red tub of Cella. I had read a ton of great things about it here on B&B and did not heed the occasional post that it can irritate sensitive skin (I only saw what I wanted to see). Well, it turns out that I am less lucky than some and Cella does give me the burning sensation. I face lathered with it and didn't get around to actually shaving because of the burn. I just wiped it off and started over with my old soap.

What I'd like to know is if there is a way around this? The obvious solution is to use something else, but I was curious if people had other solutions. I've seen people post about leaving the container open for a few weeks and then trying again. Anything else?

Thanks.

The only way around it is to not use it. If a soap doesn't agree with your skin then there's nothing you can do about it.

Send it to me, I will properly dispose of it one shave at a time.:biggrin1:

Seriously, if it is irritating on uncut skin you are probably having an allergic reaction to it. Are you allergic to almonds? IIRC Cella has almonds in its scenting perfume. When you have been a member for 45 days and have 45 quality posts you could post it there and sell it for a few bucks. I am glad you aren't stuck with the kilogram box (although you could split one into ten pucks and sell it that way if you did have the box).

I popped it out and put it in the frezzer then I milled it 50/50 with a puck of Williams and wet cold pressed it into a mug! The Williams cut it enough to neturalize what ever in Cella that was bothering me.

Your only options are don't use it and either sell it in the B/S/T or PIF it to someone. I had the same problem with TOBS, I loved everything about TOBS except for the redness and stinging and had to give it up.

Okay. I had hoped for something crazy like, "Well, first, you need to get some immunosuppressants...." I suppose after 10-15 more posts I'll try to trade it on B/S/T. Thanks.

If you don't want to stop using it, a mentholated aftershave splash or balm will lessen the redness and irritation. It works for me any way.

+1 Can not see how you will find another solution and why bother with the irritation when there are so many other soaps out there?
