I had bowed out of the restoration game a few months back and have sold most of my restores on the BST, but I knew if I came across a nice handle I would jump right back in. As it was, I found two nice handles on the same day while cruising my local antique shops, and these ended up being the easiest restores I have done. The old knots offered little resistance when being removed and all I needed to do for cleanup was a soap and water bath followed by some plastic polish. Even the lettering was rock solid and required no touch up.
I have been a real slave to the 50mm loft, but I decided to drop these a little deeper to create some variety among my brush collection. I set the loft on both brushes at approximately 46mm-47mm, and I'm really liking how they look. The knots are TGN with the Solid Set getting a 20mm fan shaped Super Badger and the Century a bulb shaped 22mm Silver Tip Grade A. The Century handle was filled with plaster, which I replaced with epoxy and small washers to create a nice, hefty feeling 82g brush.
