Sold on vac pot

recieved a vacuum pot from a friend a couple of days ago as a christmas gift. For the past year i have been using an Aeropress, pourover and french press. loved the Aeropress coffee the best. Made a cup of coffee on the vacuum pot, and got to say i was VERY impressed.

Ended up moving the FP, Aeropress and pourover into the basement as i think the vac pot is the best all around for me!

I think the vac pot combines the best of everything. my logic below:

Aeropress - PROS - great cup of coffee probably the best tasting. CONS - So many pieces that cleanup is a pain. storing all the pieces is a pain. In only making 1 cup at a time can be a hassle as well. aesthetics could use some help.

French Press - PROS - can make multiple cups of coffee at a time CONS - sometimes its a little too "thick" for daily use. clean up is a pain. Excess coffee must be removed after pressing or it keeps brewing.

Pour Over - PROS - can make multiple cups of coffee at a time, easy cleanup CONS - weak cup of coffee.

Vac Pot - PROS - excellent cup of coffee, cool aesthetics, easy cleanup, minimal pieces for storage, can make multiple cups at a time, after brewing and remove top, left with a pot of coffee that can be used for second cup (or people waking up later) CONS - glass could break??

I flip flop back and forth between my Cory Vac pot and my Chemex, but I agree they make a great cup of coffee.

I have used a Cona (German made) vacuum pot for decades.

It is still my first choice for brewing coffee when I am not in a hurry.

very nice setup. i dont think it really takes much time at all. total time is about the same as my Aeropress after you include setup and breakdown. really enjoying it so far
