Soft brush to avoid irritation

So I'm getting the hang of this wet shaving thing and really having a blast. Unfortunately, until recently, wet shaving was causing my face get really oily, which was less than ideal. But after a lot of trial and error, I've discovered the cause of the oil: my brush is irritating my face.

I currently have an Edwin Jagger best badger brush. I've used it a fair amount, and the results haven't improved. So I'm looking for a new, softer brush that will avoid irritating my face.

Basically, the softer the better (probably looking exclusively at silvertip brushes). Will be used for bowl lathering. And price is not an issue - I'd like to do this right to avoid doing it again (and again).

Any recommendations? Kent? Shavemac? Simpson?

Many thanks. B&B has been an incredible help as I get accustomed to wet shaving.

You might want to think another direction.

A really good Generation 4 synthetic such as Muhle STF V2 Synthetic is extremely soft at the tips.

+1 on the Muhle synthetic v2 silvertip.

If that's not soft enough, you'll need angel feathers, and I for one don't qualify to get enough for a brush. :001_tt2:

I would even suggest a Muhle or HJM black fibre brush. Mine has the softest tips I have ever felt, and I have also used a Muhle STF v2 which is very nice as well. Either of these would be great for you.

* I would also highly recommend this as these brushes are fantastic as they generate a great deal of lather and are very soft!
