Soaps similar to Cella

I got a red tub of Cella a while ago, and took it for a test drive the day I got it. I wasn't too impressed, so for a month or two it just sat around collecting dust. However, a week ago I decided to double back and give it another try. Not sure what I did wrong the first time, but I think I now get my best lathers from Cella. I like, but don't LOVE, the scent, but the consistency of the lather I'm getting is awesome. Just wondering if there's other soaps that are comparable - not scent wise, but overall product wise.

Some of my favorites are the Strop Shoppe's Special Edition soaps. The first time I lathered one up, I laughed out loud at the amount of lather it produced. Incredible protection to boot. The few I have vary in terms of softness, but they are all 'croaps'.

I have a brick of Cella, my favorite soap (out of many). I love Cella's scent when the soap is lathered--which to me is what counts--but to me it takes on a playdough scent after a few months in a container (sealed; but the brick's slices--wrapped in wax paper and stored in ziplock bags and then in a larger bag in a dark always air conditioned place for a year--still smell and look great to me). My personal take on some of the other Italian crops, all of which to me are great performers, regardless of scent. P-160: much sweeter scent than Cella both in the container and when lathered. Vitos coco: more subdued, pleasant sweet scent in the container and when lathered. Vitos Red: reminds me of the playdough scent in the container, fairly neutral when lathered. 3P: and even more subdued, pleasant sweet scent in the container and when lathered. I do love them all. +1 on the RR's I've used.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm intrigued by the RazoRock artisan line, I just wish the scents were more easily labeled. Some are obvious, but others, I'm not quite sure what I'd be buying. For instance can someone tell me what Mudder Focker and Moroccan Secret smell like?

This has nothing to do with the thread but...

Whenever I see a Cella thread I can't help but say out loud "CELLA" in the way "Stella" is screamed in "A Streetcar Named Desire." Well at least the Seinfeld version :001_smile

I agree that the RazoRock Artisan soaps are a great way to go. Many scents to choose from.

Proraso isn't a bad choice either, although the soap is a little softer.

Agree. Even the non-artisan soaps are similar to Cella to a degree. I have RR Fresca and it smells just like Cella.
This was my thought too. I have don marco, and assumed it had tallow even though it doesn't. Heck, it's even the same shape tub.

Also, Mike's and mystic water are pretty soft soaps, and are fantastic
