What's new

So much coffee!

I must have been really good this year!
Santa brought me a variety of green coffee beans. 19 pounds worth to be exact. This sampler should hold me over until next year.
I'm still new to home roasting my own coffee that everyone one of these is new to me, so I don't even know where to start.

Start with the big bags.

They will give you enough trys to get it right.

Then transfer what you learn to the next large bag and apply what you learned from the first large bag.

Looks like a great mix of beans. You definitely have enough to last you to the new year. Lasting after January 1st is questionable though. [emoji23]

By my calculations, (shown below), that is enough coffee to keep you awake long enough to make 53 brushes! :001_smile

After reviewing your math, I think you're right, especially since it appears you took in account the time needed for bathroom breaks and an occasional shave.

Yep, come the 2nd of January I'm going to succumb to a caffeine redraw coma.

Thank you for the advice. With my limited experience roasting my own coffee I've discovered that each variety roast differently.
The only failure I've had so far was when I tried roast 4 different varieties together. One type never made it to second crack while one burned and the other were probably just right. So now I'll roast each variety by themselves and mix after roasting if I feel need to make a custom blend.
I think I start with the large bag of El Salvador.

Just got done roasting 1/3 cup of the El Salvador beans in my cast iron pan.
Came out pretty good.
